Commissioned Music for Live Performance
I create original music on a commissioned basis, tailored for your live performance project, whether that involves individual performers, small ensembles, bands, orchestras, or other live performance groups.
Commissioning music for live performance provides you with a period of time to perform the work exclusively at your events, helping to strengthen and define your artistic identity.

- A professionally engraved score and individual parts for musicians
- A sound recording of a mockup
- No additional royalties for your licensed performances
What's Not Included
- Ownership of the music or publishing rights
- Permission to create new arrangements or adaptations
- Rights to use the music beyond the agreed exclusive performances or period
- Stems of the mockup
- Project files (DAW sessions)
Credits, Exposure & Royalties
When commissioning a work, please note:
- You must credit me as the composer in programs and promotional materials.
- I retain the right to share the music in my portfolio and use it for promotional and educational purposes.
- I retain ownership of the music and collect performance royalties through performing rights organisations (PROs) for any performances after your exclusivity period expires (no action needed from you).
Other Info
- I am based in Australia and quote in AUD, but I work with international clients.
- Due to factors such as my interests, equipment suitability, and time availability, I may be selective about which projects I take on.
Licence Details
- See the full Licence Agreement.
- If you’re interested in commissioning a live performance work, or have questions about licensing, please get in touch. Variations to the default licence—which may affect pricing—can also be discussed.
Pricing Calculators
Pricing for music commissioned for live performance is created by combining the price calcuations from two calculators: (1) commissioned composition; and (2) music notation. Both calculators appear below.

Payment Arrangements
Ordering commissioned composition for live performance requires an up-front payment of 50% of the combined Base Prices from the two calculators, and the remainder of the combined Total Prices from the two calculators on delivery of the audio mockup and notated music. The licensed rights are deemed to take effect only once the full price is paid, prior to which I retain exclusive rights to all aspects of the creative work and sound recording.
